"Swamp Ape"[2]

The BFRO team traveled to northern Florida's panhandle region to investigate reports of the Skunk Ape, a reddish-colored subspecies of Sasquatch known for its distinctive foul odor. Field investigators focused on a property near Quincy owned by Caroline and Bill Bridges, who reported years of recurring activity including close approaches to their home. The couple provided photographic evidence of an apparent handprint on a window and a cast of what appeared to be a 17-inch footprint. The team theorized that recent residential development in the ecologically rich area may have displaced the creatures into closer contact with human habitation. The investigators also consulted with members of the Seminole tribe to document their traditional knowledge and encounters with these creatures in the region's extensive swampland and pine forests.

The researchers employed their standard investigation protocols, including nighttime reconnaissance of the Bridges property and the surrounding Florida Everglades habitat. During field work, team members reported hearing vocalizations and observing what they described as an unusually large figure that could not be readily explained as human. Matt Moneymaker noted the challenging terrain of dense swamps and forests, which he suggested provided ideal cover for a creature attempting to avoid human contact. While the team did not capture definitive proof, they concluded that the combination of witness testimony, physical evidence, and observed activity during their investigation strongly suggested Skunk Ape presence in the area.
